Camp Words Unspoken Training Orientation

Training for the speech-language pathologists begins prior to the arrival of the campers and continues throughout the camp experience. Training includes lecture, discussion, small group problem solving and practice of speech modification and counseling skills.
Learning objectives include:
- Use evidenced based therapeutic strategies to assist school-age youth in increasing fluency of speech;
- Employ counseling skills in order to assist school-age youth in talking openly about feelings and attitudes related to stuttering;
- Collect pre- and post-treatment data for progress in affective, social, and observation domains related to the stuttering problem; and, Educate parents and others regarding progress across affective, social, and observation domains.
Dates of Camp Workshop: August 15-21, 2020
Fee includes: ASHA CEUs, great camp style lodging, meals, training materials and all related activities.

All applications will be reviewed by Brandon Towle, Director of Words Unspoken. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent to applicant within 2 weeks of application submission.
