Gabe

Gabe has been involved with Camp Words Unspoken since its first year, serving as a cabin counselor in 2022 at the Massachusetts location. His passion for helping children learn and grow through fun experiences, and helping them build confidence and friendships keeps him coming back to camp year after year. He is proud to be part of the team that has made Camp Words Unspoken a meaningful, magical, and life-changing experience for all of the kids (and staff!) who attend.

Through his involvement with CWU, Gabe has learned volumes about the experiences of people who stutter and apply this knowledge at camp and beyond. Gabe has worked in the realms of education, team-building facilitation and outdoor recreation, survey research, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration, Research, and Policy from UMass -- Amherst. He resides in Amherst with his wife and daughter and can usually be found holding a frisbee.
